The creators we cannot take on

Most of the people we turn down are turned down for fit, not for fault. Wrong niche, wrong stage, wrong month. Until recently that conversation ended with nothing on either side, which served nobody, least of all her.

If you run an agency that holds itself to the standard below, we would rather introduce her to you than leave her to pick an agency out of a search result.

What we ask of a partner

These are the same four things we publish about ourselves. We are not going to send a creator somewhere that would fail our own page.

A written contract, every time

A creator has to be able to read what she agreed to, months later, without asking anyone. Verbal terms and a Telegram thread are not a contract, and the agencies that work that way are the ones creators arrive to us running from.

References on request

If a creator asks to speak to two of your current creators before she signs, you say yes. Nothing else we could ask tells her as much, and no honest agency loses anything by agreeing to it.

No password access

Work through the platform's own co-manager role, which a creator grants and revokes herself. An agency holding the login holds the account, and she finds that out at the worst possible moment.

She can leave

A notice period is reasonable. A perpetual term, an unpayable exit fee, or ownership of her name and content after she goes is not.

How a referral actually happens

Worth reading before you apply, because one step in it is the part most referral arrangements in this industry leave out.

  1. 01

You apply and we check you out

Company, references, contract terms, and how you look to the creators already with you. Applying is not joining, and most of the checking happens away from the form.

  2. 02

    We ask her first

When a creator we cannot take on looks like a fit for you, we tell her who you are, what we know about you, and that a referral fee is involved. She decides. Nothing is passed on before she says yes.

  3. 03

You get an introduction, not a list

One creator, introduced, with her agreement. We do not sell contact lists, we do not pass on documents, and there is no bulk feed to buy into.

  4. 04

It ends if she is treated badly

If a creator we introduced tells us what happened next and it contradicts what you told us here, the partnership stops. That is the only enforcement a referral network can honestly offer, so we use it.

Apply to receive referrals

Free, and applying is not joining. We check every agency ourselves before a single creator hears your name.

What you send here is stored so we can review it and come back to you. It is not shared with creators or with other agencies. See the privacy notice.

What weighs most with us

Do you sign a written contract with every creator?
Would you let a creator speak to two of your current creators before she signs?

We read these ourselves. Expect a few days rather than an instant answer.

Questions agencies ask

What does BeaconOFM's partner agency programme do?
BeaconOFM meets more creators than it can represent. Agencies that pass vetting receive introductions to creators BeaconOFM has turned down or cannot currently take on, where the creator has agreed to the introduction herself.
Does it cost anything to apply?
No. Applying is free and there is no membership fee. A referral fee is agreed per introduction, and the creator is told that a fee exists before she agrees to be introduced.
Are creators told they are being referred?
Yes, always, and no creator is introduced to a partner agency without her own agreement. She is told which agency it is, what we know about them, and that a referral fee is involved. She can say no with no effect on anything else.
Does BeaconOFM sell creator data to agencies?
No. Nothing is sold, no contact lists change hands, and no identity documents are passed on. A partner receives one introduction at a time, with the creator's agreement.
What disqualifies an agency?
Refusing to contract in writing, refusing to let a creator speak to current clients, requiring account passwords instead of the platform's co-manager role, or terms a creator cannot exit. Any of these ends the application.
How long does vetting take?
A few days. Every application gets a reply, including the ones we decline.
